I spent a day in Jodhpur and saw the glorious Meherangath Fort which is definitely worth seeing. I also had a look at the market, clock tower, Umaid Gardens and a little museum. I found Jodhpur even dirtier than usual as it is full of cow poos so it is a bit of a challenge avoiding all!! I am glad I visited this city as two days later there was a high terror alert following a terrorist arrested and found with a map of Jodhpur. I had to warn travellers making their way there without information as they do not read the paper or check this sort of travel site www.safetravel.govt.nz

Jasalmer could be done in two days but I had only one to spare. The fort has become home for tourists with an entire village full of hotels and shops. I have been pretty impressed by the fact that all forts have audio systems with quality comments and stories and all have at least English and French, yes without controversy… Amazing! ;-) I could have got sick there as when I sipped my usual afternoon sweet lassi (yoghurt), it was obvious water was added to it! I told them off and did not pay for it of course…
